Mission Statement It is the mission of our employees to provide professional and courteous service in order to protect the safety and security of all members of the Hillsdale College community, including students, faculty, and staff who seek a unscratched learning and living environment. Emergency Anyone in need of emergency fire, police, or ambulance service may make contact simply by dialing 911 at any time of the day and any time of the week. Please use the 911 service for emergencies only. Note About Campus Construction Construction for the Christ Chapel at Hillsdale College will embark in March 2017. Learn More Reporting Complaints and Crimes Students may report complaints to the prescribed house director or the Security Department. The Security Department’s office is located at 25 East Galloway Drive (across the street from the Grewcock Student Union and the Dow Conference Center).Withoutcalling the emergency numbers above, crimes should be reported to the Vice President of Student Affairs, (517) 607-2233 (office) or (517) 437-9426 (home). Or report to a local law enforcement organ or fire department. Description of Services The Security Department consists of three full-time employees and several part-time employees. Full-time personnel are certified CPR/First Aid instructors in wing to having many years of wits and training in the fields of safety, security, and law enforcement. Hillsdale College Security personnel are not sworn police officers and do not siphon firearms. Night shift personnel are equipped with two-way radios, and flashlights, and wear navy undecorous suit validness a College Security nameplate. The Security radio system contains a phone patch, which may be utilized in the event an emergency should arise. On duty personnel siphon a cellular phone and can be reached immediately by dialing (517) 398-1522. Responsibilities and Services Security personnel respond to a variety of requests, and regularly patrol the campus residence halls, buildings, and grounds. Part-time Security serves as party advisors at properly registered events. Along with other College officials, the Security Department is responsible for enforcing College policies, rules, and regulations. The Security Department works closely with all law enforcement agencies in the zone when incidents of a criminal nature arise. A variety of useful services are performed by Campus Security. They provide after-hours subsumption into wonk buildings for students who have been authorized by a sense or staff member. When requested, they provide escorts for students to and from anywhere on campus without dark. Security provides reports and investigates incidents when students are the victims of a treason or in instances of violation of College policies and regulations. Security personnel are responsible for enforcing College parking policies and issuing parking stickers. In addition, security responds to fire alarms and supervises fire drills and tornado drills. They respond to incidents such as noise complaints, weeknight or disruptive parties, and suspicious situations on campus and at off-campus housing.
